IRC is still the fastest: an operator who is online answers within a minute. The form below is there for anything that is not urgent, or when you cannot connect.
Three ways to reach us from IRC
None of them requires an account unless stated otherwise.
Help channel
Join the network’s help channel and explain what you need. It is the fastest route during busy hours.
/join #Help
Network services
For a specific request — account, channel, information — go straight to the service concerned.
/msg OverNick HELP /msg OverTchat HELP
Ongoing abuse
Alert the operators on the spot, without waiting for an email reply: an emergency is dealt with in the moment. From the website’s chat, the “Call an operator” button does the same thing.
# alerts the operators, reason optional /msg OverTchat APPEL he is harassing me in private # who is online right now /who 0 o
The network is also on Facebook: Servus Overtchat. It is a profile, not a public page — seeing its content requires being signed in to Facebook. For a request that needs an answer, use the routes above or the form: they are checked, that one is not necessarily.
No operator will ever ask you for your password, not on IRC, not by message, not through this form. A message asking for your credentials is a scam attempt: report it.

What to write to us
The more precise your message, the faster the reply. Depending on the subject, here is what helps us:
| Subject | What to include in the message |
|---|---|
| Account or password | The nickname concerned, and how long the problem has been going on. Never include your password. |
| Channel request or management | The name of the channel you want, its topic, and your registered nickname. |
| Report behaviour | The channel, the nickname involved, the approximate date and time, and what happened. |
| Appeal a sanction | The channel, the date, and the reason shown with the sanction. Decisions are logged: we will be able to check. |
| Technical problem | Your IRC client, the exact error message, and the time of the attempt. |
| Network link or partnership | The name of the network, its approximate size, and a way to get back to you. |
Response times
- On IRC, during busy hours — a few minutes.
- Through the form — the acknowledgement goes out immediately; an operator’s reply depends on their availability, so count in days rather than hours.
- Ongoing abuse — do not use the form. Type
/msg OverTchat APPEL, or use the button in the chat: it is the only channel that allows immediate action.
Not receiving the confirmation? Check your spam folder: the message is automatic and some filters put it there. If nothing arrives, the address you entered probably contained a mistake — send the form again.
Before you write
Many questions are already answered in the existing pages.
- Command reference — how to register a nickname, get a channel, manage permissions.
- Channel rules — who can do what in a channel, and how to set up automations.
- Code of conduct — the network’s rules, sanctions and ways to appeal.
- Installation guide — if your question is about deploying the project, not about the network.
What sending triggers. Your message is recorded for the operators, forwarded by email to the network’s administration, and an acknowledgement is sent to the address you gave.
Your address is only used to reply to you. It is not published, not passed on to third parties, and not used to send you anything else.
