Chat
Join the network from this page, with nothing to install. Your browser talks to the IRC server directly — the site only gives you the client.
Were you looking for dating instead? That’s the network’s other door: profiles, a map and the video room. It asks for more — being 18, an account, and a test of your camera — which is why it is kept separate. The chat itself doesn’t change.
Beta, and deliberately basic. Several channels in tabs, the last twenty lines of history, private messages in their own panel and automatic reconnection. What’s missing: colors, file transfers, and everything a dedicated client does better. For regular use: how to connect. The history can be read back once your nickname is proven through the reserved access on the Channel page: identifying in the chat is not enough for the website. Closed channels (service, secret, operators only) cannot be read back from here.
Being signed in to the site proves nothing to the network. Your nickname is only protected once you have identified — and it’s the server that confirms it, not this page. The block at the top right of the chat tells you where you stand and lets you identify without leaving; you can also identify from the sign-up page or with /msg OverNick IDENTIFY <password>.
Moderation. Clicking a nickname in the user list opens the actions your status on this channel allows; operators also have the Settings button, next to the topic. Nothing is reported as done before the server has confirmed it, and its refusals show up in the conversation.
